One of my favorite moments in Kyoto wasn’t at a temple or park.
It was inside a tiny tea house tucked away on a narrow street in Higashiyama.
A kind woman in a soft kimono served me matcha and wagashi (traditional sweets).
The matcha was rich and slightly bitter — the kind that makes you stop talking and just breathe it in.
